privacy online almeno 16 anni prima che i cookies venissero regolamentati (GDPR), anticipando di fatto l\u2019avvento del capitalismo della sorveglianza (o economia dell\u2019attenzione), che trae profitto dall\u2019illimitato monitoraggio delle persone da parte delle grandi imprese tecnologiche.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Questo lavoro si basa sulla stessa tecnologia dei cookie che viene utilizzata \u2013 per esempio \u2013 per la gestione delle sessioni interne di un sito eCommerce e pi\u00f9 in generale per la profilazione degli utenti e attivit\u00e0 di marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCookie Portrait\u201d \u00e8 un file di testo generato automaticamente dal server dove \u00e8 installata l\u2019opera, e inviato al browser di chi visita la pagina del progetto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">Il testo contiene le impostazioni dell\u2019ambiente di lavoro dell\u2019utente connesso, come ad esempio le informazioni sul sistema operativo in uso, il tipo di dispositivo, l\u2019indirizzo IP, il browser e altri dati, incluso uno statement sul progetto e un numero progressivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCookie Portrait\u201d fa parte della serie NewNewPortrait, iniziata nel 2001 con l\u2019intento di realizzare ritratti che non descrivano tanto l\u2019aspetto fisico di una persona quanto le sue molteplici identit\u00e0 mentali temporanee mentre \u00e8 online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Il cookie \u00e8 gratuito e pu\u00f2 essere scaricato in formato .txt al link del progetto.<\/strong>&nbsp;Una volta stampato su un foglio A4, se lo si desidera, pu\u00f2 Nato a La Spezia nel 1975, Zanni lavora con un\u2019ampia gamma di media, tra cui video, suono, animazione, scultura, AI, pittura, fotografia e installazione. Dal 1999 la sua pratica esplora lo spazio pubblico del web e l\u2019uso dei dati di Internet per creare opere effimere basate sul tempo che combinano una marcata coscienza sociale con un\u2019attenzione primaria alla privacy, all\u2019identit\u00e0 e al s\u00e9. Come pittore, concentra la sua attenzione su un nuovo tipo di \u201cpaesaggio condiviso\u201d che \u00e8 emerso con Internet e che continua a trasformare tutte le attivit\u00e0 e le relazioni umane. Il suo lavoro appare in pi\u00f9 di 50 libri e cataloghi, oltre che in centinaia di articoli e interviste online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Carlo Zanni, Cookie Portrait, LICENSES\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/727793622?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the project,&nbsp;<strong>OPR Gallery<\/strong>&nbsp;is pleased to host on its website the installation of&nbsp;<strong>Carlo Zanni\u2019s work \u201cCookie Portrait, 2002\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">From 4 July to 4 December 2022, it will be possible to view and save your own \u2018Cookie Portrait\u2019 by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/oprgallery.it\/zanni-cookie20\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visiting this page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCookie Portrait\u201d began exploring the idea of online identity and privacy at least 16 years before cookies were regulated (GDPR), anticipating the advent of surveillance capitalism (or attention economy), which profits from the unlimited monitoring of people by large technology companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">This work is based on the same cookie technology that is used \u2013 for instance \u2013 for the internal session management of an eCommerce site and more generally for user profiling and marketing activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCookie Portrait\u201d is a text file automatically generated by the server where the work is installed, and sent to the browser of the person visiting the project page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">The text contains the settings of the connected user\u2019s work environment, such as information about the operating system in use, device type, IP address, browser, and other data, including a project statement and a sequence number.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCookie Portrait\u201d is part of the NewNewPortrait series, which began in 2001 with the intention of creating portraits that do not so much depict a person\u2019s physical appearance as their multiple temporary mental identities while online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The cookie is free\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0can be downloaded in .txt format at the project link<\/strong>. Born in La Spezia Italy, in 1975, Zanni works in a wide range of media including video, sound, animation, sculpture, AI, painting, photography, and installation. Since 1999 his practice has explored the public space of the web and the use of Internet data to create time-based ephemeral works that combine a pronounced social consciousness with a primary focus on privacy, identity, and the self. As a painter, he focuses his attention on a new kind of \u201cshared landscape\u201d that emerged with the Internet and that keeps transforming all human activities and relationships. He researches alternative selling models for digital art and he is the author of the book \u201cArt in the Age of the Cloud\u201d.
